About Alet de Vries

Alet de Vries grew up as the daughter of two psychologists, which exposed her to an intellectual environment from a young age. Discussions within the family often revolved around societal developments and how individuals should relate to them. This upbringing led the designer to develop a strong moral compass, critically reflecting on her own actions and advocating for the vulnerable.

Her inner world provides ample inspiration for her designs. Often, it is the inner conflicts and contradictions that inspire her. Contextual shifts and playful elements are combined with references to traditional clothing. The designer embraces the dynamics of societal change and translates them into her designs through subtle yet meaningful details. This approach to design transcends superficial trends and creates a timeless luxury that resonates with the progressive woman of the future.

About the collection

The exclusive ready-to-wear collection currently consists of six timeless pieces. These items are meticulously designed and crafted with the utmost care and craftsmanship in the Netherlands. While the collection will gradually expand, existing items will remain available for order indefinitely. We believe that true fashion is not subject to fickle trends and that our clothing can last for generations.

We operate on a ‘made-to-order’ basis because we only want to create what you want. This ensures that we never have excess inventory and minimizes our environmental impact. This is our antidote to the traditional linear fashion industry. Our clothing is ethically produced from high-quality surplus fabrics.
